A great imitation of many species of olive mayflies, especially in the Baetidae family. This pattern in size 16 and 18 is great all season, while the two larger ones in size 12/14 is for spring and early summer.
CDC Biot Comparadun is many fly fishermen's favorite style of mayfly dun. This kind of fly is easy to see on the water, even in the smallest hook sizes. Furthermore, the biot body gives the fly a great segmentation like the natural. In total this fly float very well, still it looks nice and slender from below and will fool fish in most settings when they feed on the up winged fly.
A biot body gives the fly body a great segmentation and it is solid. But biot bodies require you to be a little careful when using hook release pliers when the fly is going out of the fish's jaw - possibly use Ketchum Release. If you are aware of this, the fly is ready for a new fish after a quick treatment: Rinse the fly in water, dry with amadou and revitalize the wing with TMC Dry Shake Brush. On the body/thorax you can use our range of gels.
In a fly box there will always be certain flies that are more represented than others. It is a good priority to have plenty of CDC Comparaduns in the box, this is a real workhorse!
