LPX Chrome fly rods are designed and built with a more advanced and modern Guideline rod action. They have a ¾ deep load and power that kicks in earlier in the cast without sacrificing the speed in the rods. They have a lightness, stability and responsiveness that connect you with the cast in a totally new way. LPX Chrome single hand rods are powerful and designed for river fishing after migratory trout, salmon, seatrout and steelhead.

The secret behind the distinct rod action is our C.A.P M4.0™ technology, an advanced carbon layup that creates a unique rod flex. The action curve is best described as Full to Mid Flex, progressive with fast recovery. The tip section has great stability for setting sharpen loops and the power to lift heavy sinking lines. During casting you easily get connected to the lower parts of the rod which delivers a remarkable kick/catapult effect in the stop, this lets you deliver long casts with hardly any power. The unique side-stability in LPX Chrome make the fly line follow the rod extremely well when you swing and rotate the rod during the cast. Leading to more precise casting, higher line speed and cleaner loops. Truly an action type that creates a unique series of single hand rods for salmon and migratory fishing.

The LPX Chrome rods has custom designed reel seat and FLOR grade quality cork grips with rubber-cork reinforcements to stand the test of time and hard days on the water. These 9,9 #6, 7 and 8 are built to carry bigger flies chasing migratory trout, seatrout, and salmon. The rating on these rods is spot-on and leaves no need to overload. We recommend to us them with a shooting head like Compact 3D+, 4D Compact multi tip our ULS lines. A hot tip is to use our WF Bullet line if you want to fish for “chromes” fishing upstream with bombers.

Technology
C.A.P M4.0™ gives spectacular performance with flawless recovery and unique precision. C.A.P Technology features a Complex Axial Pattern (CAP) paired with unidirectional carbon fiber layups. In CAP, layers of carbon fibers are placed in varying angles to each other to maximize strength and stability in all directions. In a unidirectional non-woven carbon pattern, all fibres run in a single, parallel direction ensuring maximum strength lengthwise.

M4.0 ™ is the resin we use in this type of blank construction. The properties of this resin fill the gaps in the carbon cloth more effective than normal resins and has greater strength. It also decreases the overall need for resin in blank construction. Resulting in lighter rods than ever before.

Feel connected

LPX Chrome rods are designed and built with a brand-new Guideline rod action, which have a ¾ deep load and power that kicks in earlier in the cast without sacrificing the speed in the rods. They have a lightness, stability and responsiveness that connect you with the cast in a totally new way.

Strong, light & stable

The advanced carbon layup in these rods features C.A.P M4.0™ Technology (Complex Axial Pattern) paired with a unidirectional carbon fiber structure for maximum strength and stability in all directions, as well as low weight.

To lower the weight further, LPX Chrome is equipped with lightweight titanium stripping guides. For a firm and comfortable grip, we use Flor grade cork, which also provides sublime aesthetics to the rod. The matte gray, custom-designed reel seats are hard anodized with deep teal colored highlights for a pleasant look.

Eco features

The LPX Series is a result of years spent on research and sourcing to achieve a greener flyrod, from both the components to the production. We have significally reduced the amount of dangerous chemicals. For example by using low VOC epoxies for assembly and rod coating. The rods are made using our GL ECO-Tech™ production technique where we avoid grinding the blanks, which normally produces harmful dust at the production facility. It also gives you the structured surface finish on the rod, with added strength as a result.

The stripping guides are made out of titanium, and for the single leg guides, we use a gun smoke powder coat finish on a stainless frame instead of chrome plating, to get rid of lead.

The rod tubes have a lower diameter and are made with PP (Polypropylene) and recycled polyester tube fabric. The same fabric is used as well for the rod bag.

SG's Orange Flashwing

The hot orange flashwing is designed for typical flood conditions. When the river is brown from the rainwater or icy cold from melting snow, this is a favorite! But also a joker when the salmon has been in the ponds for a while and starts to get aggressive. This fly is also excellent for supplementing the "opposite theory", when everyone goes with 5-8 cm hair wing flies in earthy colors, it can be incredibly toxic to come up with a small hot orange flashwing on slow salmon.
Recommended tube is Hot Orange as a hook guide.
